Collection Compressed exhibit currently on display at USD
Kathol, from Yankton, S.D., studied art at USD for five years with an emphasis in painting. She works primarily with acrylic mixed media, with an interest in incorporating personal photographs into her work. Nowatzki, from Luverne, Minn., has studied art at USD for four years with an emphasis in ceramics. Salt and wood are her primary methods of firing. Stubbs, from Underwood, Iowa, has also studied art at USD for five years with an emphasis in photography. Her work explores the realm of nightlife photography and DJ shows. She also has an autobiographical series entitled “Nostalgia.” Johns, from Vermillion, has studied art at USD for four years with an emphasis in ceramics. He focuses primarily on functional ceramics with an interest in wood firing.
“Collection, Compressed” is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A reception for the artists is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 17.For more information about the exhibit, contact Alison Erazmus, gallery director of the John A.
