Dan Moen named interim president of USD Foundation
Moen, major gifts officer for The USD School of Law and USD’s Beacom School of Business since 2009, previously served as chair of The USD Foundation. He began his career in 1978 as a private practice attorney in Aberdeen, S.D. before becoming associate general counsel for Super 8 Motels, Inc. He was then president of ACS, Inc., a subsidiary of Wells Fargo Financial Bank, from 1994-2003 and continued his career in business development.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead The USD Foundation until we find a permanent president,” Moen said. “Our Foundation is fortunate to have dedicated employees who work hard every day to assist USD students and donors who recognize the importance of providing educational opportunities and scholarships.”
The Foundation’s board of directors appointed its executive committee to serve as a search committee as the search for a new president and CEO of the USD Foundation is already underway. In the meantime, Foundation board of directors chair Paul Lewis is pleased that Moen accepted the position as interim president.
“We are fortunate to have someone available to serve as interim that is knowledgeable about the purpose and functionality of The Foundation and has practical experience leading and operating a business. Dan will provide steady direction for us while we identify the next long term leader of the Foundation,” he says.
