The evening program will include a variety of dance styles – from Fosse and swing to waltz and clogging; samples of Greek tragedy with scenes from “Agamemnon, Electra and Antigone,” and musical theatre solo and group numbers from shows such as “Annie Get Your Gun,” “La Cage Aux Folles” and “She Loves Me.”. Songs from these shows will be performed by six theatre majors specializing in musical theatre and who are preparing to perform before agents, casting directors and other industry professionals at a showcase in New York City this spring. The work of student designers in costumes, lighting and scenery will also be featured with a video presentation.

Raimondo Genna, Ph.D., directs the showcase which includes project work from the dance classes of Patricia Downey (Jazz, Tap, Ballroom and Musical Theatre Styles), Chaya Gordon-Bland (Acting Period Styles), Matt Nesmith (New York showcase), Anthony Pellecchia (Lighting) and Tim Case (Advanced Rendering and Scene Painting). Additional technical and design support is provided by professors Scott Mollman and Linda Scribner, while Karl Graber serves as accompanist.
