Johnson is the author of “Cornucopia,” a book that was fueled by his interest in South Dakota’s cornfields and the economic and health implications of United States farm policy. Presently, Johnson works in Washington, D.C. as an associate with Booz Allen Hamilton’s Diplomacy & International Development practice. He also serves on the board of directors for the South Dakota State Society, is an alumnus liaison with USD’s Department of Political Science, and was recently selected as a 2011 Leadership Fellow by the Fund for American Studies.

A native of Sioux Falls, S.D., Johnson is a 2009 economics and political science graduate of The U.

Housed within the Department of Political Science at USD, the W.O. Farber Center for Civic Leadership hosts programs designed to provide students and the public insight into national and state politics, campaigns and elections, public administration and international relations. The only leadership program in the state – as well as the oldest and most well-established leadership program in the Midwest – the W.O. Farber Center for Civic Leadership was established by the South Dakota Board of Regents in 1997 as a Center of Excellence.
