Four finalists chosen for provost post at The U
The 14-member search committee, which includes two students as well as representatives of all of The University of South Dakota’s schools and colleges, will conduct candidate interviews of the four finalists when they visit USD’s campus during the last week of March and first week of April. The finalists are:
- Donald Nieman, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Bowling Green State University
- John Ryder, director of the office of international programs in the State University of New York system
- Barbara Schirmer, special assistant to the president at the University of Detroit – Mercy
- Charles Staben, associate vice president for research at the University of Kentucky
A fifth finalist, Mark Lapping, has withdrawn from consideration.
