Health Happenings, which begins with registration at 8:30 a.m. at the Muenster University Center, is an event-filled day that includes a keynote address by Pat Bortnem, M. Ed., R.N., director of Health and Human Services at Southeast Technical Institute, and breakout sessions at Beacom Hall and the Lee Medical and Science Building on the University of South Dakota campus. The breakout sessions will be supervised by practicing professionals in specific health science interests, including Alcohol and Drug Counseling, Bio-medical Research, Clinical Psychology, Dentistry, Nursing, Kinesiology and Sports Science, and Radiology and Medical Imaging.

Throughout the day, participants will be able to meet with faculty and health care professionals to learn more about preparing for a rewarding career in health sciences. Additionally, students attending Health Happenings can discuss educational and career information with counselors from the USD Office of Admissions on the first floor of the Muenster University Center, including questions regarding the USD application process and scholarship opportunities. Tours of the USD campus will also be provided.
