Beacom is one of only 46 certified programs and one of only 10 that are located in a business school, according to dean of the Beacom School of Business Michael J. Keller. “This is the highest level of certification available and speaks well of the caliber of our faculty and the growth of this program,” he stated. No other programs in the state or region – with the exception of the University of Minnesota and the University of Iowa – are as highly credentialed by the AUPHA.

AUPHA uses a peer review process developed for programs willing to undergo external reviews to achieve program excellence. The application begins with the preparation of a detailed self-study covering the program’s structure, educational processes and evaluation/improvement mechanisms. An external review team examined all aspects of the Beacom program, including curriculum, faculty, educational outcomes, and student and employer satisfaction, in addition to other factors.

“Achieving AUPHA certification demonstrates our commitment to setting, achieving and maintaining high standards,” added Keller. “Certification also signifies to prospective students and employers that the school has distinguished itself in seeking the highest standards for health administration education.”

Beacom’s Health Services Administration program prepares students for careers in the fast-growing field of health services leadership, management and administration. Program graduates are in leadership, management, and administration posts in health and medical facilities including hospitals, nursing homes and public health departments.
