Industry Professionals Meet with Beacom Students to Discuss Opportunities
Meet the Industry provides students with the opportunity to build relationships that could lead to employment after graduation and helped students gain confidence interacting with business professionals.
“I was really impressed by this event. It was a great opportunity to speak with companies in different industries that I might not have thought to speak with on my own. There are a few companies I’m excited to talk with further about partnering with for my Capstone Project,” said Shamly Mackey, graduate student in the Master of Science in the business analytics program. “I believe the employers were impressed by the preparation and professionalism of all of the students.”
“We appreciate that these regional companies braved the weather to discuss their companies and employment opportunities with our students,” said Mandy Hanson, manager of the Beacom School of Business Career Success Center. “We plan to host a similar event at the beginning of the spring semester to provide students with another opportunity to connect with these companies.”
A total of 17 employers registered for the event and actively plan to recruit Beacom School of Business students:
- BPI (Beef Products Incorporated)
- First PREMIER
- Howalt+McDowell Insurance, Marsh & McLennan Agency
- Lawrence & Schiller
- Midcontinent Communications
- Mutual of Omaha
- Northwestern Mutual
