A campus reception for both exhibitions is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27 at the John A. Day Gallery. Both exhibitions and the reception are free and open to the public.

Klages is head of the art department at the University of Wyoming. She has won several teaching awards, including the College of Arts and Sciences Teaching Award from University College in London and has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. Klages is inspired by the lands she sees on her travels to distant places and is a self-described “restless traveler” always missing the places she has left behind.

The “Vermillion in Blue” exhibition features ferro-prussiate (cyanotype) prints created by photography students in the B.F.A. program at USD. John Banasiak, photography instructor, will also feature his ferro-prussiate prints in the exhibit. The cyanotype process was invented by Sir John Herschel in 1841 and has re-emerged as a popular process amongst contemporary alternative process photographers.
