Move In Day Launches Welcome Week
Most first-year students start the move-in process Friday at the DakotaDome parking lot where they receive their information packets, keys and instructions on driving to the residence halls. Current students, staff and faculty will help unload vehicles, which eliminates long lines, waiting and potential traffic congestion on campus. See details, maps, videos and other information about move-in day. Returning students should go directly to their residence halls.
Besides welcoming the Class of 2020 with a convocation at the DakotaDome, Friday events include the provost’s picnic, parent reception and comedian Maggie Faris. Among other USD Welcome Week 2016 events: on Saturday, the Coyotepalooza student organization fair and comedian magician Derek Hughes; on Sunday, the women’s soccer game, honors student orientation, residence hall socials and YoteFest at the new basketball and volleyball arena, which includes free food, prizes, T-shirt and a DJ.
