NAACP VP to deliver USD Thurgood Marshall Program
In addition to Oliver’s address, the School of Law will host a panel discussion at 2 p.m. in room 101of the School of Law featuring law students James Berreth, McLean Thompson, Mike Gee and Alyssa George. Some of the panel topics include “What is Law School Like” and “Preparing for Law School.”
Previously scheduled for the event was University of Maryland law professor Taunya Lovell Banks, who had to cancel her appearance this week due to extreme weather conditions in the Baltimore, Md., region. The Thurgood Marshall Program is hosted by USD’s Black Law Students Association and is sponsored by the Law School Admission Council as part of DiscoverLaw.org Month, which was developed to encourage racially and ethnically diverse undergraduate students to discover career opportunities in law. The panel discussion and lecture are free and open to the public.
