National Accreditation Oversight Provided by USD Occupational Therapy Associate Professor
Ranelle Nissen, Ph.D., OTR/L, academic fieldwork coordinator and associate professor in the Occupational Therapy Department at the University of South Dakota, has been appointed to the national Roster of Accreditation Evaluators for the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education.
In this capacity, and as a critical part of her duties, Nissen will participate as part of a team to conduct on-site evaluations to determine the accreditation status of occupational therapy educational programs at institutions across the country. She will also assist occupational therapy programs to maintain their competencies regarding accreditation activities. This appointment acknowledges Nissen’s expertise in the field.
Nissen’s term as part of the national accreditation team extends until June, 2022. She has been a faculty member at USD since 2011.
