“We are proud to have our program and building named after a native South Dakotan who has proven himself in the business world,” stated Michael Keller, dean of the Beacom School of Business at USD. “Miles Beacom is a fine example to all of our students and I, along with our faculty, am proud to say we are housed in Beacom Hall.”

Beacom Hall, home to the Beacom School of Business, is a$19.5 million facility that provides 69,000 square feet of state-of-the-art classrooms, conference rooms, faculty offices and laboratories. Additional features include a large auditorium for faculty and guest lecturers, a research center, and student and faculty mentoring rooms. These spaces will be flexible to accommodate the latest teaching and problem-solving techniques that businesses require of top college graduates.

Born and raised in Sioux Falls, Beacom is president and CEO of PREMIER Bankcard. He joined First PREMIER Bank to start the credit card division two decades ago leaving behind a successful banking career with Citibank. Today, as president and CEO, Beacom is responsible for overall direction, development, profitability and soundness of PREMIER Bankcard. Beacom serves on the board of directors of First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard, Inc., as well as the boards of Interlakes Community Action, Inc., the Sioux Falls Catholic School Foundation, Dakota State University Foundation, Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation, Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce, United National Corporation Reinsurance Company and the Sanford Foundation. He and his wife, Lisa, and their three daughters reside in Sioux Falls.
