Olympic Committee Staffer Talks Sport Management at USD
A.J. Turkovich manages the USOC’s relationship with outfitting sponsors like Nike, Ralph Lauren and Oakley and is also director of team processing.
He started in the industry as an intern for Disney’s “Wide World of Sports” in Orlando, Florida, and Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Internationally, Turkovich worked alongside Team USA at the London 2012 Olympic Games and the Sochi 2014 Winter Games. Last July, he directed team processing at the Pan American Games, and this summer he’ll handle those duties for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Turkovich will meet with students and anyone interested in pursuing a degree in kinesiology and sport science on Tuesday, March 1, at Patterson 117. Pizza and pop will be served at 6:15 p.m. and he’ll speak at 7 p.m.
