Organist Steven Egler scheduled to perform Oct 10 concert at USD
VERMILLION, S.D. -- The University of South Dakota will host concert organist Steven Egler at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10 at Aalfs Auditorium inside Slagle Hall. The performance, which is free and open to the public, will feature Egler performing on the university’s 29-stop E.M. Skinner organ built in 1925 and renovated in 2011 by the Schantz Organ Company.
Egler is professor of organ at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich. He has appeared in solo concerts throughout the United States and is a member of the Egler-Shelly duo. His program will include works by Franck, Vierne, Sowerby, Locklair and Yon.
