Political and economic ramification of Germanys EU reunification subject of Deans Lecture Series
VERMILLION, S.D. -- Jörg Winterburg, Ph.D., economics professor at the University of Applied Sciences at Braunschweig, will present a lecture, “Political and Economic Impact of Germany’s Reunification in the EU” on Thursday, Sept. 11 for the School of Business Dean’s Lecture Series at The University of South Dakota. The event is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Farber Hall of Old Main. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Winterburg studied Economics at the Universities of Wurzburg, Germany and Umea, Sweden. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Luneburg (Germany). Before beginning his academic career, Winterburg was adviser to the German government and worked as senior researcher for the federation of private German banks. He has 15 years of teaching experience at several Universities in Germany, Hungary, Finland and Sweden and at The University of South Dakota. In addition to serving as an economics professor at the University of Applied Sciences, Winterburg was dean of the business school and provost. He also works as an adviser to governments in developing countries in the fields of economic and social policy.
