Made possible by a gift from the late Mrs. R.E. Rawlins of Balboa Island, Calif., the Rawlins Series is an annual event that invites world-renowned concert pianists to perform and work in master classes with USD piano students and potential piano majors. A USD music alumna, Mrs. Rawlins studied piano with Genevieve Truran, graduating with a piano performance degree. She was an avid supporter of the arts both at The University of South Dakota and in California until her death in May.
