According to the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), which oversees NCATE accreditation, USD’s School of Education continues to meet the rigorous standards set by the professional education community. The accreditation announcement followed a review of the School of Education’s self-study report submitted in November 2011 and a site visit by an NCATE BOE review team in April 2013.

The USD School of Education has been fully accredited by NCATE since 1956. The School of Education holds NCATE accreditation for its initial teacher preparation program and advanced preparation for teachers and other professionals.

“The USD School of Education is proud to be an NCATE accredited institution – the highest professional standards established for schools and colleges,” said Hee-sook Choi, interim dean of the School of Education. “Achieving reaccreditation is further evidence that USD’s education and related professional programs are maintaining cutting-edge training with rigor thanks to our outstanding faculty, high standards, and hardworking students who are dedicated to making their educational experience a success.”
