Young will lead the law library and its staff in its mission to provide services to law students, faculty and legal professionals. He will teach legal research and other courses.

Immediately prior to his appointment at USD, Young served for 5 ½ years as the assistant dean for law library and technology services and assistant professor of law at the Shepard Broad College of Law, Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He also taught agency, civil rights litigation and employment discrimination as well as advanced legal research.

Young served for two years as a federal law clerk to the late Honorable S. Arthur Spiegel, United States District Court judge for the Southern District of Ohio, as an attorney advisor for the Social Security Administration and as an associate attorney for a mid-sized Dayton, Ohio, law firm and a small, rural Kentucky law firm.

He grew up in southwestern Ohio, earned his B.A. from Miami University (Ohio), his M.L.S. from Indiana University, Bloomington, and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Northern Kentucky University. When not working, Young enjoys spending time with his spouse of 15 years, Heath, and their three dogs.
