“All of the hard work the board put in to prepare for this year is really starting to pay dividends. Our goal is to keep building on this year’s successes and show the rest of the country what USD Law is all about,” said Bijan Bewley, a third-year law student and Moot Court Board president.

The team of third-year law students Aidan Goetzinger and Drew Hurd, and second-year law student Abbey Farley, reached the quarter-final round of the Regent University Moot Court Tournament in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Additionally, third-year law students Kyle Beauchamp and Tanner Anderson, and second-year law student Michael Ewald, received the best brief award at the Elon Law National Moot Court Competition in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The South Dakota Moot Court Board practices appellate brief writing and oral advocacy by competing in tournaments all over the country. The rest of the Moot Court Board will compete later this semester in San Diego, California, at the National Criminal Procedure Moot Court Tournament and in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for the regional qualifiers for the Annual National Moot Court Competition in New York City.
