Shakespeare Exhibit Closes This Week
VERMILLION, S.D. -- Events this week will close out the monthlong display of a rare 1623 book of William Shakespeare plays at the National Music Museum on the University of South Dakota campus, and some of the latest media coverage includes a story in the New York Times.
The national newspaper featured USD's exhibition Saturday on the front of its Arts section.
Exhibition hours this final week are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday, April 2.
At 4 p.m. Friday, April 1 in Farber Auditorium in Old Main, professor Bruce Brandt from South Dakota State University will give a talk titled "Film Varieties of 'Hamlet'" and show clips from a range of film versions of Shakespeare's famous play. The closing reception at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2 at the museum will feature a birthday cake for Shakespeare and the performance of a short scene from "Hamlet" by USD theater students. Both events are free and open to the public.
