Since receiving her MBA from USD in 2003, Billie Jo Waara has led several innovative consumer initiatives. Her focus as Taco John’s CMO is marketing strategy, innovation and menu development for the chain’s 400 restaurants. She previously served as director of the South Dakota Office of Tourism from 2005-2008.

Waara will accept her award on Friday, April 8 from USD’s Beacom School of Business at the 2016 awards for excellence banquet. The ceremony recognizes those with a distinguished record in teaching, research and service to the school and regional economy in both the public and private sectors.
