That Stains Never Coming Out exhibit features two USD artists
VERMILLION, S.D. -- Darcy Bruce, a Sioux Falls, S.D. native and a graduate of The University of South Dakota, and Anthony L. Millette, a fine arts major from Sioux Falls, S.D., will present their exhibition, “That Stain’s Never Coming Out” at the Washington Street Arts Center, Friday, Dec. 12 from 8 to 10 p.m. The show will feature paintings by Bruce and pottery by Millette.
Millette’s pottery is made with a combination of wheel thrown and hand built forms with a heavy emphasis on surface. The work is then fired in either a traditional wood burning kiln or an experimental gas kiln in order to further embellish the surface of his pots. He will graduate from USD this month and plans on pursuing his master’s degree. Bruce, meanwhile, graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting. Her paintings are figurative ranging from large scale oil to small scale acrylic and mixed media.
