The 14-member search committee for USD’s next provost and vice president of academic affairs, which includes two students as well as representatives of all of The University of South Dakota’s schools and colleges, invites all members of the campus community to meet the finalists during their visits to campus.

Public forums have been scheduled at these times:

  • Monday, March 31, Barbara Schirmer, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Neuharth Media Center
  • Friday, April 4, John Ryder, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Neuharth Media Center

Each candidate has been asked to speak about the mission and vision of USD. Their comments will be followed by a question and answer session. Following the conclusion of each forum, the audience will be invited to provide candidate feedback.

Charles Staben, a third finalist, visited the USD campus March 27. An additional finalist, Donald Nieman, has withdrawn from consideration.

Information and updates regarding the search as well as additional information about the candidates and the campus visit schedule is available at www.usd.edu/acadaffairs/ProvostSearch.cfm.
