At 4:30 p.m. in the Academic Commons Gallery of I.D. Weeks Library, a reception is scheduled in recognition of the artists and their works that will be on display throughout the week, including watercolor paintings by alumna Sara Fakhraie, “As the Flowers Tell It,” which are on display on the first floor of the library. A series of photographs by Judith Peterson, “You Are Still with Us,” are featured in the second floor exhibition cases. Additionally on the second floor of the library is an exhibition of pottery and ceramic work by student artist Johnne Law McMahan. At the Muenster University Center, a series of acrylic paintings containing found objects by student artist Nate Buchhoz will be on display on the second floor. All library and Muenster university center exhibitions will be up through Dec. 16.

The Warren M. Lee Center for Fine Arts building will host two artist receptions at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7. On display at the John A. Day Gallery is an alumni exhibition, “Natural Wonders” featuring four USD alums Julie Niskanen, Jess Elofson, Joseph Broghammer and Steven Durland. The exhibition contains prints, pottery, paintings and photography that explore relationships to nature and the environment. “Natural Wonders” will be on display Oct. 3 through Oct. 28. In keeping with the “Natural Wonders” theme, an exhibition by local artist Amy Fill, “En Bloom,” will be featured in Gallery 110. “En Bloom,” an installation of paper flowers, is on display through Oct. 14.
