USD Announces December-March CSA Employees of the Month

Recipients receive $150 and a reception ceremony.
Nominees for the award must be a CSA employee employed at USD for one year or longer who maintains exemplary performance of job duties.
Arlene Shockman, system payroll specialist for the shared payroll center, was named CSA employee of the month in December 2023. Shockman has worked at USD in payroll since 2022.
According to her nomination form, Shockman is reliable, takes initiative and shows leadership in the work she does. Her attention to detail contributes to the less than a 1% error rate during payroll processing. She takes the lead on projects and seeks alternate solutions to improve processes.
Brad Waage, locksmith for building maintenance, was named CSA employee of the month in January. Waage has worked at USD in building maintenance since 2013.
According to his nomination form, Waage ensures building structures – particularly locks and doors – are working properly on USD campus. He is reliable, highly knowledgeable in his field of work and willing to work until the job is complete. He is consistent and accurate in his work and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills.
Dee Wilson, facility worker for custodial services, received February’s CSA employee of the month. Wilson has been at USD for over 15 years.
According to her nomination form, Wilson is hard working, reliable and willing to go out of her way to get the job done. She maintains a positive attitude and is a team player.
Les Sawyers, facility worker for custodial services, was named CSA employee of the month in March. Sawyers has worked at USD for over 24 years.
According to his nomination form, Sawyers has proved to be an exceptional employee in the way he is attentive and considerate to other people. His customer service and attention to detail is impressive. He is the type of person who raises the morale around him and has strong work ethic.
