USD Band Concerts April 15
The University of South Dakota Department of Music presents the USD Symphonic and Concert bands in concert on Sunday, April 15, at 3 p.m.in Slagle Hall’s Aalfs Auditorium.
The Symphonic Band, led by director of bands John LaCognata, Ph.D., will feature pieces by Peter Mennin, Guy Woolfenden and David Gillingham. The Concert Band, led by director of orchestras Luis Viquez, D.M.A., will include Tale of Wild Mustangs by Jay Bocook in addition to pieces by Jack Stamp, Franz Strauss and Ferrer Ferran.
The concert will also include graduate conductor Damon Lamberty and feature Dr. Gary Reeves, guest horn soloist.
The concerts are free and open to the public.
