USD Hosts Celebration of Women Suffrage
The University of South Dakota hosted a celebration of women suffrage today in the Muenster University Center pit lounge.
Featuring student presentations from the fall 2017 women suffrage class, attendees joined Professor Molly Rozum, Ph.D., for flash lectures and musical performances from the Suffrage Songbook.
South Dakota voted to allow women to vote in 1918 later ratifying the 19th amendment in a special legislative session in 1919 before its national ratification in 1920.
