The South Dakota Vocal Arts Festival features workshops for solo and choral singers as well as performances by the USD Opera, Chamber Singers, voice and piano faculty, and USD student soloists. Afternoon activities include a Young Artist Solo Vocal Competition and combined choir rehearsals. Two guest choirs, Sioux Falls Lincoln High School Concert Choir under the direction of Linda Conrad and Kathy Ferguson, and the Sioux City East High School Chamber Choir directed by Serina Jolivette, will also perform at the 7:30 p.m. concert along with winners of the festival’s solo competition and combined choir. The concert is free and open to the public.

Workshop presenters include Tracelyn Gesteland, D.M.A., assistant professor in voice/opera at USD, Brandon Hendrickson, D.M.A., assistant professor in voice/opera at USD, David Holdhusen, Ph.D., director of choral activities at USD.
