USD Nursing Instructor Receives Educator Award
Hegge, a clinical, lab and population health instructor on the university’s Vermillion campus, has been teaching in the USD Department of Nursing since 2011. She has more than 30 years of nursing experience.
“Helene is a nursing leader who has significantly advanced nursing education,” said Haifa Samra, Ph.D., interim chair of USD nursing. “Her exceptional dedication and outstanding contributions to nursing education and service exemplify the spirit of our faculty and staff at USD nursing.”
The USD Department of Nursing is affiliated with the university’s School of Health Sciences and offers nursing instruction and degree programs at five sites across South Dakota as well as through online programs.
