USD Professor Named to South Dakota Physical Therapy Association Hall of Fame
Joy Karges-Brown, PT, EdD, MS, professor and director of Clinical Education in the University of South Dakota’s Department of Physical Therapy, has been named to the South Dakota Physical Therapy Association Hall of Fame.
Karges-Brown was honored for her distinguished contributions to the statewide physical therapy organization – South Dakota Physical Therapy Association – and also for her role as a mentor and instructor to many physical therapists serving South Dakota.
Before joining USD’s physical therapy faculty 23 years ago, she worked as a staff physical therapist at a Sioux Falls hospital for five years. Karges-Brown has been a state-elected delegate to the American Physical Therapy Association’s annual House of Delegates for 12 years, and she has served as a board member for the South Dakota Physical Therapy Association since 2012.
