USD School of Law Trial Team Competes in California
The University of South Dakota School of Law trial team is attending the 2017 National Criminal Trial Advocacy Competition at Hastings College of Law in San Francisco, California, Oct. 18-22.
“The participants have spent many hours outside of their regular law school studies and extra circular activities to dive into the 200-plus page tournament program,” said Cody Raterman, a member of the trial team.
The trial team is led by USD law professor Thomas Horton. Last year the team received honorable mention, a high honor in the tournament. Raterman credits Horton for the team’s preparation and success.
"I'm confident my teammates will utilize every skill learned in Professor Horton's Trial Techniques class in representing USD School of Law at the tournament,” Raterman said.
The team consists of Raterman, Morgan Nelson, Brittni Summers and Kaleb Paulsen.
