USD School of Law welcomes eyewitness identification expert
VERMILLION, S.D. -- The University of South Dakota School of Law will host Deah Quinlivan, Ph.D., assistant professor of psychology at Florida Southern College, at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 17. Quinlivan, who specializes in psychology and law with a specific research emphasis in eyewitness identifications, will present the program, “The Psychology of Eyewitness Identifications.”
Sponsored by the Criminal Justice Education Project, a new student group at USD School of Law, Quinlivan has worked closely with Dr. Gary Wells, the most famous eyewitness expert in the nation, and she personally worked on several trials, including the Troy Anthony Davis appeals case to the Supreme Court. Additionally, Quinlivan has received several awards and written for several publications.
The Criminal Justice Education Project at USD promotes education about the criminal justice system for future public defenders, prosecutors and practicing attorneys. The group provides educational materials and speakers on research areas in the psychology law, criminal justice and legal fields.
