The two-hour event will consist of students interacting and reading an Imagination Library sponsored book with the children at the center.

“This event is a class project that will serve as a community service initiative to increase awareness of Imagination Library and United Way of Vermillion,” said Nicole Gibson, a USD student from Elgin, Iowa who’s participating in the event.

The mission of Imagination Library is to establish reading habits with young children at an early age. The organization sends age appropriate books to children from birth to age five, free of charge.

The event will also have a registration table, where parents will be able to register for Imagination Library after the activities. Brochures with sign-up information will also be available to help increase registration rates in Vermillion and surrounding areas.

The event is sponsored by United Way of Vermillion, Imagination Library and USD’s Center for Academic and Global Engagement. For more information about the event please contact Yamini Reddy at (605) 215- 9693 or DineshYamini.Reddy@coyotes.usd.edu.
