USD Takes Third at Cyber Defense Competition
A team from USD's Department of Computer Science competed at the North Central Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (NCCCDC) from March 23 through 24, placing third in the critical services area.
The competition, held at Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota, is the North Central U.S. qualifying event for the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition, the largest college-level cyber defense competition in the world.
USD's team competed against 11 other institutions, including Dakota State University, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, North Dakota State University, Montana Tech and other area universities. The team is coached by Department of Computer Science assistant professor Kiho Lim, Ph.D., and IT security officer Joe Reynoldson.
