“I know that so many of us are working hard to be inclusive at USD. Oftentimes that involves becoming aware of our implicit biases and ways that our systems are set up to disadvantage some people. This symposium is a great opportunity to help educate us how to continue to become more inclusive,” said Meghann Jarchow, coordinator for USD’s Sustainability Program.

The symposium will offer several workshops, a screening of the documentary “White Helmets” and a keynote address by Creative Reaction Lab President and CEO Antionette Carroll.

Carroll, a former resident of Ferguson, Missouri, was named the Founding Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force of the Professional Association of Design in 2014. Currently, she’s the Chair Emerita of the Task Force working on long-term strategic initiatives such as the Design Census Program with Google and national Inclusivity in Design Summit.

The first workshop begins at 10 a.m. The keynote address will be delivered at noon. The documentary screening will occur at 4 p.m.
