USD VP Prompts Governor to Declare Human Resources Professionals Day
Felder said the goal is to acknowledge HR professionals and ensure awareness of HR’s integral role in every organization concerning employees at all levels. He said it's an opportunity to recognize the people who serve as a model of how to treat everyone with dignity, respect and fairness.
HR departments typically handle hiring, training, development and retention at businesses and organizations.
“Public recognition of Human Resources Professionals underscores their role as a valuable service, not only for making them more visible, but to lend assurance to all citizens that they will receive the support they need and deserve in all aspects of state employment,” Daugaard wrote in his proclamation.
USD’s HR department will serve cake to passersby in the Muenster University Center on campus from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Sept. 1 to mark the occasion.
