The board is comprised of 14 directors and includes hospital and transplant representatives, community members, transplant recipients, transplant recipient family members and donor family members. King, who received a kidney transplant last year from a living donor, has served as chief diversity officer and assistant vice president for Academic Affairs at The U since 2005. He will leave USD on Thursday, Aug. 21 to accept an appointment as special assistant to the president and chief diversity officer of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn.

Based in St. Paul, Minn., LifeSource works with more than 200 regional hospitals and medical examiner/coroner offices to honor the donation decisions of donors and their families, provide ongoing grief support to family members, and provide professional and public education about donation.
