Vermillion Organizing an Optimist Club
The Yankton club has grown to more than 100 members and given over $31,000 back to several programs that help children, including through the public library and sports. The service club’s success prompted discussions about expanding to nearby Vermillion.
The first of several planned meetings to organize will be held at noon on Wednesday, June 15, at the Little Italy restaurant in Vermillion.
Optimists have more than 75,000 members in over 2,600 clubs. More information about Optimist International is available at www.optimist.org. For questions or information locally, email Jake Hoffner at firstname.lastname@example.org.
