World Religions Panel to be Hosted on USD Campus
Steve Miller, an adjunct professor of world religions in the USD History Department, said the event is a way for students to learn from one another about religions and cultures that they might not be familiar with.
“It’s students talking to students, that’s the whole point,” Miller said. “Ultimately it’s about their experiences here and their experiences around the world and what those experiences can teach us.”
Six to eight students from a variety of traditions and cultures will comprise the panel. Aside from their religious beliefs, students will also speak about what their religions teach in regard to the treatment of people of other faiths.
“The goal is to get to talk about what types of things we can do at USD, and around the world, to see what we can do to get along,” Miller said.
