Servant Hearts Clinic is a volunteer and student-run free clinic that provides free health care services to adults in the Yankton area. The clinic provides services in primary care and acute care Monday evenings from 5:30 – 7pm. Appointments are by walk-in only.

Servant Hearts Clinic empowers Sanford School of Medicine medical students to serve in a primary care role to patients while under the supervision of local physicians. The clinic fosters a commitment to community service among medical students and is an opportunity for them to develop as leaders. At Servant Hearts students run the scheduling desk, see patients under the supervision of an attending, and help run the clinic administratively.

How students can get involved:

Students are primarily involved after coming to Yankton’s campus for clinicals. They will be orientated and trained at that time. However, there are opportunities for younger students to get involved with administrative duties a the clinic.  They can get involved by contacting the current Chiefs.  Additionally, students can get involved through community outreach events, including influenza vaccine drives.
