Bushell’s article analyzes the effects that California’s Proposition 12, recently upheld in the United States Supreme Court, will likely have on the national pork industry.

“I’m truly honored to receive the AALA Student Scholarship Award for my paper discussing the effects of California’s Proposition 12,” said Bushelle, a third-year law student. "Growing up on a ranch, agriculture has always been a passion of mine, making this recognition even more meaningful.”

The AALA Student Scholarship Award is presented annually to recognize and encourage scholarly research. Winners are selected for the excellence of quality in writing, the relevance of legal issues in agriculture, the clarity of analysis, the potential effects and other attributes of scholarship.

Bushelle is the president of the Student Bar Association and the associate symposium editor for the Volume 69 South Dakota Law Review Board.
