Military Admissions Application Options
- First-time Undergraduate Student. If you are a first-time college student who has never been enrolled in post-secondary study, you should apply as a first-time undergraduate student.
- Returning Student. If you were enrolled at the University of South Dakota and are returning after a deployment, you will need to complete the freshman student application for admission.
- Transfer Student. If you are a student who was or is currently enrolled in post-secondary study at another college or university and are now interested in undergraduate admission at the University of South Dakota you should apply as a transfer student.
- Graduate Student. If you have completed the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree and are looking to continue your studies as a graduate student at the University of South Dakota, you should apply for Graduate School Admission.
GI Bill/VA Educational Assistance
Military/Veteran students who plan to use federal VA Educational Assistance such as the GI Bill should apply for those benefits through the USD Office of Veterans' Services.
