In cooperation with the university's policy regarding the recent health risk, Clarinet Day, scheduled for April 9, 2020, has been canceled. Thank you for your understanding during this time.
Join us for a day of clarinet music making at the University of South Dakota. The 2020 South Dakota Clarinet Day will feature Dr. Yamileth Pérez, clarinet professor at the University of Costa Rica School of Music, Dr. Deborah Reeves, from the National Music Museum and Dr. Luis A. Víquez, clarinet professor at USD. Trio En 4 from the University of Costa Rica will be the chamber ensemble in residence for the event.
The event is free admission and open to clarinetists from all ages and backgrounds.

|8:15 a.m.||Welcome USD Clarinet Studio Performance (Farber Hall)
|8:45 a.m.||Clarinet Chamber Ensembles Rehearsal, coached by USD Music Education students (Aalfs - Auditorium/Farber/North Lobby/South Lobby)|
|9:35 a.m.||Guest Lecture with Dr. Deborah Reeves about the National Music Museum (Farber Hall)|
|10:15 a.m.||Break. Visit the Midbell Music’s Exhibit|
|10:30 a.m.||Masterclass with Dr. Yamileth Perez (Farber Hall)|
|11:45 a.m.||Lunch (on your own – food options available close to campus. Please be back at 12:55 pm for an on time start of Clarinet Choir rehearsal)|
|1 p.m.||Joint Clarinet Choir Rehearsal/Clarinet Fundamentals with Dr. Viquez (Aalfs Auditorium stage)|
|1:30 p.m.||Clarinet Chamber Ensembles Rehearsal, coached by USD Music Education students (Aalfs - Auditorium/Farber/North Lobby/South Lobby)|
|2 p.m.||Break. Visit the Midbell Music’s Exhibit|
|2:15 p.m.||SD Clarinet Day Gala Concert with special guests Trio EN 4 from Costa Rica, the South Dakota Clarinet Day faculty artists, clarinet ensembles and The South Dakota Clarinet Choir (Aalfs)|
|3 p.m.||End of the event: Q & A session with Dr. Viquez and our guest clinicians.|
|3:30 - 4 p.m.||Optional: Observe the Symphonic Band (USD’s premiere band) in rehearsal.
