Jonna Bart, a USD Beacom School of Business accounting student, was recently awarded a $10,000 scholarship by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). This scholarship is granted to one student at 332 colleges and is awarded for their interest and aptitude in accounting and for exhibiting high ethical standards.

“It is very rewarding to see Jonna’s efforts recognized on a national level,” said Srini Ragothaman, Ph.D., professor and department chair for the accounting and finance division. “Her dedication and academic aptitude made her the ideal candidate for the scholarship.”

In addition, the South Dakota CPA Society awarded the following students accounting excellence scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year:

  • McKenna Golden, $1,000 scholarship
  • Alex Nelson, $1,500 scholarship
  • Logan Schiebout, $1,500 scholarship

“Our scholarship recipients deserve tremendous praise and congratulations on their recent recognitions,” said Venky Venkatachalam, Ph.D., dean of the Beacom School of Business. “Equally deserving praise are our accounting faculty for producing extraordinary students who continue to make us all proud.”
