Beacom Summer Accounting Institute Sees Record Participation
The applicants for this program are high school sophomores and juniors who are interested in pursuing a career in accounting or business. During this five-day long program, students took part in a variety of activities and events aimed at helping students learn more about the world of accounting. Some of the activities included attending lectures and presentations from faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the Beacom School of Business.
Participants in this program had the opportunity to visit nationally recognized employers in Sioux Falls including Eide Bailly, Daktronics, and the South Dakota Investment Council. Students began to acquire a feel for the University of South Dakota campus as they stayed in the dorms for the entirety of the five days. Students also enjoyed other social events such as games, movies, swimming and a visit to Wild Water West.
