Tech2Launch (T2L) program stimulates and supports innovation emerging from the University of South Dakota.

T2L supports USD technology-based entrepreneurs by providing targeted business support. Through flexible funding, of up to $5,000 per client, T2L connects founders with expertise in areas such as business consulting, accounting and bookkeeping, legal services, intellectual property, marketing and communications, design and branding, and business insurance. T2L reduces administrative burden so USD tech-based entrepreneurs can focus on building and advancing their technology.

Supporting Rural Tech-Based Entrepreneurs

T2L offers the following services to help USD tech-based entrepreneurs build and sustain successful ventures:
  • Planning: Company formation and incorporation; business model creation; budgeting and financial planning
  • Operations: Accounting and bookkeeping; payroll; legal services; business insurance
  • Strategy: Intellectual property guidance; SBIR/STTR support; Strategic R&D consultants
  • Brand and Growth: Marketing and communications; design and branding

T2L supports technology-based ventures connected to the University of South Dakota.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Venture must have a connection to USD (e.g., faculty, staff, student, or recent alumni)
  • Have a business registered in South Dakota or plan to register a business in South Dakota
  • Must be developing a technology-based product or service
  • Must have completed a regional NSF I-Corps training

Office of Research & Sponsored Programs

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs supports and expands competitive research and creative scholarship at USD. The office oversees USD's research function, assisting faculty and researchers, generating student opportunities, and establishing and administering policies governing the conduct of research and overseeing the management of research programs.
