USD graduate

Dean's List

The dean's list is compiled at the end of the fall and spring terms to recognize students who have met the following guidelines:

  • Completed a minimum of 12 credit hours
  • Achieved a GPA of at least 3.5
  • No incomplete or failing grades

School of Law students may earn dean's list recognition by achieving either a GPA of 85.00 or greater for that semester or rate in the top 10 percent of their class for that semester, whichever group is smaller. First-year law students are not eligible for the School of Law's dean's list.

Academic Honors

To earn an honors designation at graduation, the baccalaureate-level graduate must have completed at least 60 hours of USD credit and must meet the following USD and cumulative grade point averages:

  • Summa Cum Laude − equal to or greater than 3.9
  • Magna Cum Laude − equal to or greater than 3.7
  • Cum Laude − equal to or greater than 3.5
