Education & Exploration

The University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business is hosting three exciting, hands-on summer camp opportunities! Designed for high school students eager to explore the world of business, these camps offer a wide range of interactive sessions. Students will engage in dynamic presentations, participate in group activities, and hear from industry experts about their careers. Outside of learning, campers will enjoy fun activities like games, movies, and social events, all designed to foster teamwork and leadership skills in a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. Beacom’s Summer Camps provide an unforgettable experience to kickstart your future in business.

Three Summer Camp Options

Business Immersion Bootcamp

Date: Sunday, June 7, 2026
Time: 1pm-7pm
Location: Sioux Falls, SD
Cost: $25
Registration Deadline: May 15

The USD Business Immersion Bootcamp is an engaging, one-day event hosted at the University of South Dakota’s Sioux Falls campus. This program invites all high school students to explore academic opportunities available through the Beacom School of Business. Participants will learn about a variety of business majors that can be completed at the USD–Sioux Falls campus or in Vermillion through interactive sessions and informative presentations led by USD faculty and staff. Students and their families will also have the opportunity to connect with the campus community during a shared dinner (with Beacom sponsored food trucks) from 6:00–7:00 p.m. Designed to be both informative and welcoming, this experience offers students a meaningful introduction to academic pathways in business. Attending any Beacom summer camp will earn future Beacom students a $500 scholarship towards any business program at USD’s Beacom School of Business. Please note, only one $500 scholarship is available per student.

Business Academy Camp

Location: Vermillion, SD
Cost: $100

Summer Accounting Institute

Location: Vermillion, SD

The Summer Accounting Institute is an engaging, hands-on camp hosted by the University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business. Designed for high school students interested in accounting, this two-night camp experience in Vermillion introduces the accounting field through interactive sessions, real-world applications, and conversations with faculty and accounting professionals. Students will build foundational skills, explore career pathways, and collaborate with peers in a supportive environment— a great way to begin exploring a future in accounting. Attending any Beacom summer camp will earn future Beacom students a $500 scholarship towards any business program at USD’s Beacom School of Business. Please note, only one $500 scholarship is available per student.

Beacom Summer Camp Details

Summer Accounting Institute Schedule: TBD

Students will be housed in air-conditioned residence halls located on USD’s campus at Coyote Village. Students may check into their rooms after completing camp registration and will be allowed to stay in the residence halls through Tuesday afternoon. Cell phones are permitted but may not be used in class. Meals are provided beginning with dinner on Sunday evening at the Muenster University Center and continuing through dinner on Tuesday. Students living in or near Vermillion have the option of attending camp as commuters.
