Become a Leader in the Classroom
This advanced degree program is intended to provide the classroom teacher the opportunity to study in greater depth all curriculum and instructional areas related to teaching in preschool, kindergarten, the elementary grades or in child care settings. It strengthens teaching skills and exposes the teacher to a variety of materials and programs used in elementary schools. This convenient and flexible online program allows students to continue their employment as they become leaders in their field. Students can specialize in:
- Culturally & linguistically diverse learners
- Reading specialist/literacy coach
- Science, technology and math pedagogy
USD also offers an accelerated option which will allow advanced students who have been admitted to the master’s program to begin the M.A. in Elementary Education with a specialization in either reading specialist/literacy coach or culturally and linguistically diverse learners during their final year of undergraduate study. Undergraduate students who qualify can register for graduate level classes and these credit hours may apply to both undergraduate and graduate degree requirements.
